I wonder if by using videos on a blog, like uploading interviews or just presenting products can help a business attract more customers. Will the traffic increase? What are the advantages?

There are plenty of reasons why to include videos and that can actually boost your business, for example, videos can capture testimonials and success stories, record a greeting from the CEO, create product and service training videos showing customers how to succeed, record FAQs with real prospects or customer posing the questions and interview key strategic referral partners.

Successful blogs are all about content. Publish great content, and your blog will eventually increase in traffic. The medium which you choose to deliver that content is secondary. That is not to say that it isn't important, it just isn't as important as making sure the content is awesome.

Some blogs lend themselves better to video than others. If your blog is primarily a humor blog, it might be fun to see some video (especially if you are funny). Or if you interview somebody in your industry, I'd rather watch a video of that than read a transcript. But if you have a technical blog with lots of code samples and such, I would rather see that in text than in a video.

Consider your content. Consider your audience. And determine what is most appropriate for you.
