Hi,

I am in a process to launch a new website, would like to integrate a feedback section to get complains, bug reports and new ideas etc. I checked out get satisfaction and user voice but both of them are highly priced, is there any free or low cost alternative that is good in quality like the mentioned services?

Thanks for your answers, in advance! :)

There's Ideatorrent and crowdsound. You should check them out.

was checking out crowdsound, looks nice but their blog hasn't been updated for more than a year. they still up and kicking? I feel you are quite dependent on such provider, having this important feature outsourced. What would in-house coding of such feature cost? – Darko Rakovic Dec 17 at 13:26
Ideatorrent seems to build on drupal CMS and is not too attractive but Crowdsound looks promising... – Device Developer Dec 17 at 13:36
yes, CrowdSound widget is very interesting for me, since you can do both browsing and commenting through the widget. I do not want users opening another page just to post a suggestion. – Darko Rakovic Dec 17 at 19:04
CrowdSound, may not match the quality of user voice, but does the job.. :) – Device Developer Dec 22 at 11:19

You can use some clones like CnProg or Soclone

Other interesting opensource alternatives for you to check could be OpenMind and VoxPopuli

Good luck

CnProg is good, but its in python, Soclone seem to be under construction... OpenMind looks very good but its in Ruby on Rails (I have PHP hosting support, no ROR or python). VoxPopuli, does not feel like web 2.0. Any other suggestion in PHP? – Device Developer Dec 17 at 13:39

I guess it really depends on what you mean by "low cost". UserVoice.com offers specials for startups and non-profits (50% off) & open-source projects (free). There's also a free plan. http://uservoice.com/signup

Hi,

I would like to recommend you Zoho Discussions - an online forums software that lets you to create idea boards, customer support portal and internal communities. And, you can also create multiple forums to get complains, bug reports and new ideas, with loads of advanced Features and Solutions.

Furthermore, Zoho Discussions also offers Feedback Widget to allow your customers to leave you feedback wherever they happen to be at the time - in a marketing page in your website, or actually inside your web product. Feedback that you capture using the widget can be made public - just like any other post on your online forums. Or you can choose to only make it private and get it via e-mail.

And, I would also like you go through it's pricing plans to choose a preferred plan that suit your business needs.

You can evaluate the product and give us your feedback/suggestions. If you require any demos and if you have any queries, you can always get in touch me at support@zohodiscussions.com

Thanks!

Well the latest & most intelligent of solutions for auto-feedback management and great interface is http://bubbleideas.com

It was launched recently at Singapore, and I can vouch for its awesomeness if you are one of those who worry a lot about your customers.

UserVoice is a good product (we use it). But you have to constantly monitor it for ballot stuffing because they provide no means to limit who can vote. We have a lot of cases where a customer will have 15 co-workers all go vote for their request.

But if you review every new user that registers and go delete the bogus votes then it's a great system.

Uservoice has several issues IMHO. Like it does not allow you to disagree with a thought, which is required in a wholesome feedback scenario. All ideas are given one-way track - up, which is quite funny actually if you look at long term effects.

In comparison Salesforce does a better job with its product Ideas and gives excellent amount of control to the admins to control bogus voting, spam etc.

As @Robert indicates above BubbleIdeas is another good product coming up but it still is in beta. GetSatisfaction has a terrible UI, and that's what keeps us away from them.
