I've read a lot of books on making money on the internet. I suspect that many of these authors are making more money selling a book than in actually doing it. For example, the book 4-Day Work Week book spends a lot of time on time management and only hints at what he does for a living. It seems he sells pill for people who work out. The same for Yanik Silva. He sells more information on how to sell information. This seems to me like the old ads that used to be in classified newspapers. You know. The ones that said send me $10 and I'll show you how to get rich. After you send them the money, they advise you to put an ad in the newspaper asking people to send $10 just like they did.

To answer your question, yes! People make money online all of the time, but I would put down those get rich books pronto. If someone sells their "secret" to making money online for 10 bucks, chances are the secret has been out of the box for quite some time. Doing something unique, innovative, or even just making a blog with some interesting content that attracts visitors can make money. The sky is the limit, but instant hits are hard to find, so don't expect your first website will be your early retirement. |

You can make money online - it doesn't have to be hard but it is almost never quick. The key is to offer real value. If you are highly skilled in some specialty - then you can shoot for making money in an information field. If you have a skill that is in demand you can try to sell a service. If neither of those are true then you are down to selling a product. eBay is probably the best known site for selling products but there are other options (all dependant on what the product is). The first thing you need to address is what info/service/product can I produce that other people already want (you do not want to have to create the demand yourself). |

Consider using ebay or amazon apis to sell online. They'd give you significant returns on sell that you'd make. |

Of course you can make money with an internet website. Yo can take a look at this page where you can get an estimate daily revenue for given web addresses. Marketing plays an important role here. There are over 100 M existing websites so the chances that someone visits your page are close to none if you don't promote it. It is not easy to succeed by running a web store, a blog or social networking site these days. Personally I believe the biggest chance to succeed is to create a new technology and then hope to get some bigger company to buy it (Google or Facebook). Well certainly depends on what kind of business ambitions you have. If you want to earn a couple of 100 bucks you can learn about content optimization, look at google trends to see what are the people currently interested in and write a blog. Regarding books and suggestions in general I don't listen or read books written by people without references from the field. If someone made fortune just by writing books and not working in the field (developing technology or whatever field he is writing about) how can you believe his words? |
