I want to learn more about online payment options as it seems a good way to get more clients. It seems that the more flexible your site/business is, the more comfortable your clients will feel. However, being too flexible cannot lead to disadvantages too? I mean, the more accounts you have, the more organization and management you’ll need. Which option do you see as the most suitable for membership websites?

I don´t see too many disadvantages on having flexible payment options. I think Google checkout can help you with that!

Well it all depends on what you are going to be selling. There is a few flexible payment options that you can check out; Google Checkout and 2Checkout are my two chooses. It all depends on what you are trying to do.

But to be honest, Google Checkout will be the easiest to maintain and the easiest to control.

Hope this helps!

Apart from the upkeep on all the accounts the one major disadvantage is potentially losing out on discounted fees. For example, PayPal gives you reduced fees if your sales were greater than $X.xx the previous month.

In a low volume/turnover business this can make a major difference but if you are making big amounts through each of your payment options you should qualify for cheaper fees each month anyway.
