I've been struggling with this thought for a while. I think the alternative energy field offers alot of growth for entrepreneurs. My initial concept was to convert gas vehicles to electric power and sell for a profit, but this requires $15k at a minimum. What could an entrepreneur pursue in this growing industry on a small, boot-strap budget?

Yes, you can but this industry is a tough one for a startup, and as you mentioned the initial capital is weigh too much, so I guess you'll be needing a partner.

You could search for one in partnerup.com, or maybe you could resort to angels or VC's. I guess those are the options, because without money, it's way too difficult.
