When you start a new business, you're trying to find someone who would help you financially. Could you give me an idea on what I need before I start looking for an investor?

Thanks

First you need to find a market that has money to spend. Then you need to figure out how to get them to spend that money. No investor is going to listen to you for more than 10 seconds if you haven't done that.

Before start looking for an investor, the first thing you should have is a good idea of what your business is going to be about. What your investor is going to need is a very good idea about what your business is offering, and if you have any strategies when it comes to marketing your products. Always be sure to explain your investor what are your golds and try to convince him/her that he/she won't be wrong investing in your business.

He/her also would like to know if you have a business plan that includes what would happen if your company fails and how are you going to deal with it. Have a detailed budget, a resume of your skills and past references. He would like to know what are you going to do to minimize the risk of failing, and how is it going to affect him.

Hope it helps

Only if you need to borrow money. Fund it yourself if you can. Investment money comes with strings attached.
