The other day a person who works with me told me that the design of a website and the color influence people to enter or not enter on a site. I thought she was making a joke, but can this be true?
Thank you

The answer is Yes, design and colors are important. It will depend on the kind of site you are going to build and your target market. How you combine colors, the font (typography) choosen, your brand's logo are things every web designer would consider and define according to your plans. But this is not a big deal and sometimes it is a minor subject, since functionality is what really matters. That's why many sites just have a clean design with not much design. Functionality, correctly placed applications like social media gadgets, advertising, content display, photos and many other factors would make your site easier to navigate through. I hope my comments help you anyway. Good luck! |

Is a scientific fact that color can influence people on doing or not doing something, for example visiting your site. It will definitely affect your marketability if you don't have any users that go check your products on your site. It's been proven that blue, brown, and grey suggest authority, creativity, security, and faithfulness. If you are planning on changing your website colors, consider how it will affect your results. Colors can affects a person's mood, and consequently your business. The right color will make you attract customers attention. Here's a cool site you can visit that tells you what are the right colors according to the business you own and how it will affect you marketability. Hope it helps |

Yes colors can effect a persons mood. But don't try to optimize things that are minor. Try to fix the big errors first and most websites are so full of them that i would care about the graphical website design. And all this psychological stuff is also highly questionable. In the past the common saying was never use black (blue is the best - neutral) unless you are in the funeral business. But now we see the black is beautiful idea everywhere. Especially on small shops which pick up trends much faster. |

and .. since it wont let me post 2 links: getballpark.com Two online invoicing solutions (one hosted, one not). Have a brief look at those two sites. Can you honestly tell me that the way those sites look doesn't prejudice you as to which software will be better? |
