My questions are the following: How should I expect to get sales if I haven’t started promoting my product/service?

Should I start trying to get sales if my budget is not enough for a whole marketing campaign?

I was just thinking about taking the phone and start calling some business contacts and potential customers. What would you suggest?

Hi Jodie,

The 'Catch 22' of the sales cycle.

The 'purpose' of marketing is to put you in a position to make a sale. Marketing is 'sending messages'. Marketing does NOT make the sale for you.

The 'process' is usually necessary, but not always. If you can make enough phone calls, speak to enough 'prospects', 'qualify them' into 'Buyers', make enough sales to stay alive and prosper without spending on 'marketing'; WHY spend?

If you need to get your message out to a wider group of 'prospects', weed out the non-buyers, and make more productive use of your 'opportunity time', then spending may be wise. Research and planning!

Good Luck!
