It’s an easy way to backup files and important data for free. However, if you will use it for business you need one service that fits your needs. This could be fundamental if you have to share information with clients. Some of the services I know are Box.net, Live Mesh and Jungle Disk. In case you choose to use one of those, you will probably have to pay.

Cloud storage services are perfect for small business, companies, students and anybody who works with a laptop. In addition, text edit software is not essential anymore, since some of the cloud storage services as Google Docs let you create and edit new documents online, just using the same login account you use for your email.

I totally agree with that. The service provided by Google Docs is great. This kind of service is constantly improving and I guess that the tendency is that in the future pretty much everything is gonna be stored in the cloud. – Peter Barker Oct 29 at 23:53

Dropbox.com is what I use. The interface is good, you get file synchronization across a number of computers and you can "share" folders with people outside your company. Currently it offers 2Gb free, and 50Gb for $10 per month. Techcrunch said http://bit.ly/SSgav

Another player is humyo.com, they offer 10Gb free (they used to offer 30Gb free) and 100Gb for $7 per month. However they had server issues earlier this year and disappeared for an afternoon....Ouch! (Search for "Humyo cloud disappears from afternoon sky")

So be aware that the cloud may disappear and perhaps use 2 providers conjointly.
