When you hire a designers team for you business website, you are probably going to need them again sooner or later, and that's more money spend that you may be able to save. Programs to help you design webs must be not really difficult to use, so can you suggest a couple?

Thank you

Have you considered Microsofts offering? Last I checked they were offering a free custom domain name as well as the free web builder/website. Not as customizable as many options but I gather from your post that you are not concerned about a fully custom look but rather in minimized price.

Agree. Also, Office Live gives you some applications that look interesting and free email accounts under your own domain. – unknown (google) Feb 4 at 11:15

I agree with you, no one knows your business the way you do and no one know how to do it better than you. Godaddy.com is a do-it-your-self program that allows you to build your own website in a very simple way.

It's important for customers to see that is really you reflected on your website and not some packed idea of a programmer or designer. It doesn't have to look professional, it just has to be you and your business.

Take a look at this site in which you'll find guides and advices for you to design your own website.

Best of luck

Hi Nicole,

I'd be happy to help you build a website, I own WebsiteDesignVideos.com [it is NOT live, this is not a blatant self-promotion] I will assist for free. If you simply give me time to talk via Skype or another platform.

It's a matter of analyzing what you really need and developing an online marketing plan. I can also assist with an offline marketing plan if necessary.

Please reach out to me.

I would avoid template based services, you often don't get the end result you want. I agree, Weebly is a good online service and so is Wix

If you were looking for Software, then I wouldn't recommended anything other than Serif WebPlus X4, it's very easy to use, simply drag and drop your content where you want it.

The other thing I would recommend is using a Content management system such as Joomla! or even Wordpress. There are some great templates you can get for them, even some really nice free templates. RocketTheme do some nice Free Joomla! themes and WooThemes do some Great Free Wordpress Themes.

Hope that Helps, I would post hyperlinks to each individual service but I'm a new member so I'm unable to.

Have a look at Wordpress, it allows you to build a great site with limited skills.

Though be careful to look at how much of your time you are spending building, maintaining and managing your site as this could be time spent doing your core business. Just be sure to weigh up the cost and time savings.

I actually run a service that manages sites for businesses. Your concern that you will need the developer again sooner or later is a valid one and we attempt to address that by providing the service on a subscription basis with no additional cost involved when any changes are needed. We're also responsible for all aspects of the ongoing management of the site which frees up the client to focus on core business. Not trying to sell you the service just to be aware that your time is valuable and doing it yourself is not always the most cost effective approach.
