I'm familiar with programs such as YCombinator and TechStars that offer mentorship programs combined with seed capital. Are there are other programs out there doing the same thing right now besides those two?

Yes, there are! Let's see if I can put a little list together...

DreamIt Ventures - Philadelphia, PA

TechStars - Boulder, CO and Boston, MA

ShotPut Ventures - Atlanta, GA

Start@Spark - Boston, MA

LaunchBox Digital - Washington, D.C.

Capital Factory - Austin, TX

There are most likely a few more than this as the concept has caught on. With a little more digging on a database driven website like CrunchBase, you could probably compile a list even longer. Hopefully these serve as a good starting point for you though!

Derek, There's actually a rapidly increasing number of startup accelerator programs located around the country and world. Many have started recently and there are also increasing numbers of programs affiliated with universities for college students.

I've compiled a list of those programs on my blog, which I've been updated for the last few weeks. As you can see, growing numbers!

Hope this is helpful!

Great list, thanks! Feel free to dump that list into your answer here to help people out who don't want to click through. – Derek Feb 7 at 6:48
