The title pretty much is the whole question. Where\how do you meet with programmers that can partner with you on a startup?

I would go through Guru.com, Elance.com or oDesk to find programmers and see what some of them are looking for. A possibility is that they are looking just to work as freelancers but also looking for business partners. |

I have used many freelancer sites and he is right about if your not tech savy you will be taken for a ride. Let me know what you have in mind and maybe I can point in in the right direction. Thanks Devin |

If you're not technical yourself, I'd be wary of sites like those Dave Salomon mentions. There are great people on there but they are surrounded by a crowd of far less able programmers. It's very hard to know who's good. A service my company offers is to put together and run little teams, as a compromise between an expensive company and trying to use $10/hr developers from RentaCoder. You're more than welcome to email info@jdxsolutions.com with any questions. |

There seem to be a lot of ads in the Computer section of CraigsList's "Gigs" listings for people looking for partners who can do programming (at least there are in the Washington,DC area, YMMV, of course). I have no first hand experience with them, and thus no knowledge of how effective they may be. |

I found my web design/programing partner through Behance. While having experience of both oDesk and Elance, I wormly recommend searching through thousands of highly creative portfolios on Behance.net, and contacting those developers with creations appealing to your senses. In my experience, searching for a partner/developer on oDesk or Elance is a time-consuming and really boring task. Behance is fun, inspiring and will give you a lot better end-result. |
