How can I get a Traffic Explosion all at once to Launch my portal without spending money on Marketing and DONT WANT ANY INVESTMENTS?

Imagine me to be Twitter and about to launch with a superb service that will offer so much Value and its only that value that I have to offer but the tool will depend on A large amount of traffic to come simultaneously together otherwise it will die out.

I thought of reviews on blogs, PR, Interviews but this could all take time?

My question simply is,

Is it possible to attain a large amount of traffic all at once without spending a penny on marketing just because you have a valuable tool to offer?

If so I would really appreciate a strategy to do so and how it can be achieved. I know it might be far fetched, but I believed this will be the right place to ask about it if it is possible.

*> If im to define a large amount of

traffic I would say 1 Million Hits all in a period of 48 - 72 hours.*

Thank you in advance,

One good way to do that would be a joint effort of the new product with an already well estabilished, highly popular product (like Twitter). Make the new product in such a way to complement or be benefitial to a popular product and propose to their developers to work together.

Using the Open Social API might be a good choice also, and one that is related to my first point. Though I'm not sure how it works, it seems to me that many products that needed high volumes of traffic to become worth turned out to benefit from Open Social (Books iRead, for one).

Another way might be open source your product. This is the same as the first point, once again. If people can embed your product into others, there is a chance it will become popular if it really is useful and not hard to setup.

Thank you for your suggestion, but I will need to get that drive of traffic within 72 hours. – Audai E. Louri Feb 25 at 17:08
From now? I thought you meant 72 hours from when you launched it. If it's not from now, then what I said might still be an option. Simply work on it. It requires time investment only, so it's just not feasible if you meant no investment at all, not even time. If that's the case, I'd say it's almost impossible ("almost" here just to avoid being "totalitary"). – n2liquid Feb 25 at 17:13
Not at all, Your first point is very valid though not easy, I was referring to the second point of open source, that would take time to deliver traffic. – Audai E. Louri Feb 25 at 17:39
Well, Open Social might be a good mid-term, then. Your application doesn't have to be open source to Open Social powered; what's open there is the API you would use. If you don't know about it, you can check it out here: code.google.com/intl/pt-BR/apis/opensocial. Good luck :] – n2liquid Feb 25 at 18:40

If your site is not live yet, put up a page with a teaser blurb and let people submit their email addresses to be informed when you launch. Putting up a veil makes people want to see behind it.

You need to foster relationships with bloggers who cover topics relevant to your niche. Feel free to approach journalists in traditional media as well, but your success rate will be even lower.

Write them a personalized letter and tell them about the value an article about your site would offer their readers. Don't just blindly send out a mass launch announcement and expect people to care.

Ask the people you're in contact with to hold off the publication of any story on your site until your official launch date.

If you can offer a blog a coupon or something that represents real value to their readers, that would increase your chances of getting coverage - as well as conversions.

First of all thank you for your comment, I like the idea of Pre-Launch, but how do I get the visitors to come to my site in the first place. – Audai E. Louri Feb 25 at 17:09

Not easily.

One million hits in 48-72 hours of startup is a ton of traffic. Your tool would need to be absolutely spectacular.

If your "tool" is as revolutionary as you make it sound, you could get in contact with people at tech blogs: i.e. gizmodo, lifehacker.com, as well as tech magazines such as Wired, and see if you can coordinate your launch with articles on their website about your new service.

Unless you already have access to a lot of traffic somewhere else on the web, your best bet is to try and get support from those who already do.

First of all thank you for your answer, I have thought of this and if you can offer any tips on how I can give them some value to motivate them in considering me. I though of maybe, just maybe having them test the tool and then featuring them. – Audai E. Louri Feb 25 at 17:11

I guess that there are different answers for your questions. I really don't think you can do that without spending money. However, if you have a Twitter profile that is popular enough to attract all your followers to your site's launch, that would give you an important amount of visitors contributing to your site's traffic.

You can also get in touch with many "popular" users that could spread the word in advance for you. Blogs, Facebook, reviews, and all kind of posts could be also helpful. It also depends on the kind of service or product you have to offer.

You can get in touch with other websites and you can also use Instant Traffic Explosion Generators but I really don't know if thy will be what you are looking for. Just in case you want to learn about them, feel free to take a look at it.
