I am wondering where people think Google screwed up when it comes to their Radio Ad Network?

I have read a lot about Google selling their Radio ad system, but not many people talk about where Google went wrong.

The reason I ask is I am currently developing a Radio Ad Network and the more information I can get on what Google and other companies have done wrong in the past so I don't do the same http://radio.bonush.com

It could be possible that Google misjudged the capacity of its technology to work beyond the Web.

Some people say that they have underestimated the human side of the business, but that sounds peculiar due to the fact that the whole concept behind Google is human communication.

"Radio stations refused to turn over airtime to a computer algorithm that set prices far lower than their own rates. Big advertisers steered clear."

There is an interesting article with data abtou this topic here.

"Google never came up with a good way to measure listener response." - Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt I am wondering what they mean by measure listeners response. Surely an increase of traffic to the site would show that the ad is working? But also on top of that radio advertising as always been about guess work of how many people have been listening and is advertising working? I guess this will be an issue that we have figured out how to solve in our business model for the product. Can you explain what you mean by "Google is human communication" – Russell Harrower Nov 13 at 13:55
