I have been thinking a lot about heath care, and I am upset that a single-payer system wont be in our future.

So I have decided to try and start my own... kind of. It is inspired by the health insurance a church near me offers for its congregation. You only pay into it $50/month, and you don't use it for smaller things, only when you need it.

I was thinking do something similar, on the same scale (500-1000 clients), but mainly cover the little things, like doctors visits, generic drugs, etc.

I know this isn't insurance, per se, but it seems like it would help out a lot of people unable to go to the doctors because they can't afford it.

I only have liquid about $20K, but I can sell off a lot of my stuff and easily make that $45K. This is way short of the minimum $1M for most licences, which is why I included the insurance-like statement in the title.

What are the laws around offering to pay for your clients doctors visits?

Jeremy, That's a great idea. Although I don't have the exact answer for your question, it is clear you should get in touch with a lawyer.

I guess you can implement such a service but you really don't want to have problems with other companies providing similar services.

This is an interesting article with 5 Alternatives Health Insurance like services you can check.
