For everyone a website promotion is vital for website success. The best part is that you have to keep in mind two simple strategies:

  1. Creating compelling content that visitors can "enjoy" and
  2. Building inbound links to your site and ALWAYS REPEATING.

It is easier to promote your website when it has a clear subject, and when the subject is new its better presented than other websites. Be sure to have an attractive title, a short description covering its contents and a list of keywords.

Obviously, the first thing that any site needs is traffic, so things like newsletters, although they are good for retention, will have to wait till the end.

Investing in a quality SEO/SEM campaign will always be the best ROI for new sites or those with little traffic. You can try to do this yourself, but I advise against it. It's very complex, it's not exact, and the really good techniques are held close.

Social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc) may work for you if you are trying to promote specific deals and use those venues as exclusive or preemptive outlets for something valuable. Unfortunately, unless you're an interesting blogger, have some sort of other fantastic/compelling content, or are link bait central, no one cares. Which is fine, because that's not what your site is about. Social media doesn't work for everyone, don't be fooled by the band wagon.

Making your site more searchable will help people find your site on accident and some or many of which aren't your target audience.

Having a bunch of money to throw at promotion is good but if you don't have it then you need to go to certain public places for targeting certain people and distributing something or displaying some sort of sign that helps people to find it on purpose.

You may find something on http://buysellads.com/. Also, a certain four letter word (shit) stuck out at me in your site name. Probably doesn't mean anything, just pointing it out as an observer.
