Instead of always being the Chinese those who control exports and imports I thought that Americans could also gain more strength in the field, but I don’t know how to find those people who would actually like to go overseas.

I would recommend checking out the National Innovation Marketplace at www.planeteureka.com. It's an effort subsidized by the US government and some formidable private sector players to enable manufacturers to become inventors, exporters and global entrepreneurs.
