Hi Startup community,

So far I am enjoying your questions and answers that I have been reading. I hope they keep coming.

My question is regarding the procedure of starting a blog. As any other startup, you will have goals. My question is directed to a first achievable goal for a startup blog. Is it 500 visitors per month, or is 25 new visitors per month, or 25 returning visitors. I am looking for metrics or things that I can measure.

Thanks, Geo

I'm not a blogger myself, but I guess the answer is simple enough: "Track what you want to have happen." That way, you can be sure that it happens and you can fix it if it isn't happening.

ANyway there's a site that has great info on how to generate and increase blog traffic. I hope it helps.

IMHO the best way to start is to plan your website/business and schedule goals every 6 months. In that way, you will figure out what you can or cannot do, and how long will it take you to do it. In my opinion, 500 visitors per month sounds ok for the first 3 months and you can even start making some money by Adsense.

Make sure you do your every day work and follow your plan.

Post new content every day.
