When Gary Vaynerchuk was here last week, he talked about the "Three C's" - Caring, Community, and Content. A blog, like any other website, needs to have a significant amount of traffic in order to be profitable. You must start with awesome content, and keep it fresh to keep people coming back. Then you start building the community around your blog, and you must demonstrate that you care about that community. Gary (who has built a $60 million empire) mentioned that he responds to every e-mail, blog comment, tweet, etc. that he receives. That has helped him build a huge, loyal community, which ultimately turns into large profits.
