Hello,

Me and a few of my friends have worked in our free time, holidays, weekends and have build a new software system. Our software is ready to be deployed in production environment and not in the early stages at all. We have studied the market and we have every reason to believe that our software has great potential and can turn out to be a great thing and make serious money. In order to take our business to next level, we need to focus on our business in full time basis but we cannot quite our day jobs because we need our salary.

The only option that we can think of is to find investors. What would be your advise in finding investors and approaching them? Where can we find investors?
If you are an investor and interested to know about our software we would be more than happy to talk to you.

Thanks

There are a number of routes you can take to find investment. I would suggest asking around in your personal circles first to get connected with investors. A personal referral will be a much stronger way to get in the door. It might even be that you can put a group together in your personal circle to get you off the ground.

There a a number of Angel Investors (AIs), Venture Capitalists (VCs) and other groups that meet in a variety of formats. I'm sure you can find local ones to you that you ask to be presented to.

The SBA or SBDC (Small Business Development Center) is a free service provided in the USA. They will likely have connections with AIs and VCs. You can go to them to get advice on which groups to visit.

There are also many online sites that you can use: http://www.vfinance.com/

Remember you risk losing a large portion of ownership of your idea if you go VC without having deployed the product and proven its marketability. The more risk they take the more ownership they will want.

There are plenty of groups in linkedin to find an investor! Try joining these groups and present your idea there, you'll definitely find your business angel! Good luck!

P.S. Here;s also a website to llok for investors, but it's in German. http://www.exchangeba.com/
