Is there any strategy to know from the very beginning what do people want?

First of all you should clearly identify your market. Then start thinking about what kind of content is worthy to read and how are you going to get that content. Is it easy to find? Can you do it on your own? After you find the solution, start your blog/site and measure what your visitors are saying. Using Google Analytics you may know where they are going, which are the most seen articles. Concentrate on what people want to read!
