Investor Search Criteria

Next

Lesson

While using Crunchbase.com, we’re going to begin by selecting our Investor Type.

We’ll first select the Funding Stage that we are currently raising within (Pre-Seed, Seed, Series A, etc). If you’re unsure, pick more than one. The more accurate we are, the better we will triangulate our search toward the most likely investors.

Next we’ll choose our “Type” (of investor). Here we’ll want to refer to the most likely investors we identified per the Stage of investment.

  • Pre-Seed. Accelerators, Incubators, Angel Investors.
  • Seed. Angel Investors, Syndicates, Angel Groups, Micro VC.
  • Series A. Venture Capital firms.

This should give us a broad set of investor matches, so we’ll then need to refine our search a bit in the next exercise.
