Facebook page promotion-- does it suck or do we suck?

I'm getting so few likes from promoting my page on Facebook, even though I am targeting the groups I think are right. I'm trying different images, but it seems like I'm just wasting money to be honest...any advice? any expert tips? not the standard stuff please:)

Want more leads/sales online? Let's talk!

Hi there,

it depends on what your end goal is. Are you looking for page likes or you want to send traffic to a landing page on your website in order to get leads or sales?

If you can give more clarity on what your business is about and what you are trying to achieve, then I'll be able to give you pointers on what to do to increase your ROI.

For now all I can say is work on your Ad copy (not so much about trying different images, but images that send the right message). Hone in on your targeting... test, test, and test, until you get it right!

Feel free to contact me if you need to talk further.

This strongly depends on what product you're targeting, what market you're in, and countries you're after. Also, is it an online product or a physical product? How long are you running the ads for? Usually a good 2 weeks is fine, then the results decline. It would be great to know a bit more details about what exactly you've done and then figure out with you where exactly the problem is.

I am the Swiss Army knife of local marketing.

Oh, my dear friend, so many new businesses experience the same thing, so hang in there. Here is my advice, but first, we need more context:
What type of business are you?
What kind of creative and copy are you using?
Are you boosting posts, inviting friends and family, or running full ad campaigns?
The answers to these questions are important because the strategy that works for one business may not work for another. Let me walk you through what works best across the board to get more results and turn those wasted dollars into smart investments. Here’s what you need to know:
1. Stop Boosting Posts
Boosting posts is like tossing money into the wind. Use Facebook Ads Manager instead—it lets you target the right people, test what works, and track real results.
2. Your Images and Videos Matter Most
The visual is what stops people from scrolling. Use:
Bright colors or bold text.
Faces that show emotion.
Short videos (under 15 seconds) to grab attention fast.
3. Your Words Need to Speak to Them
Start by calling out your audience: “Are you struggling to find clients?”
Talk about their problem: “Wasting money on ads that don’t work?”
End with a clear action: “Click to learn how to fix it!”
4. Test and Adjust
Start small—spend $5-$10 a day and test different images and words. After a few days, see what’s working and focus on that.
5. Create Value First
Instead of asking people to like your page, please give them a reason to care. Share tips, videos, or guides that help them with real problems.
6. Are you targeting a cold, warm, or hot audience? This matters in the copy, creative and type of campaign
