I wrote a couple of articles when I was going through it for the first time:

I hope you enjoy them. I can talk in length about this as it's still relatively fresh in my mind.

Hi there, great question and one that gets asked around a lot. From 2009 till end of 2012 I wrote extensively about this and interviewed several dozens of people from single moms to busy middle aged executives and from high school drop outs to PhDs, who have made this employee to entrepreneur transition. 2013 I got distracted and couldn't do much writing & interviewing but in 2014 I already have over a dozen entrepreneurs interviewed and we will be featuring from March on. My best tip for transition having gone through it myself is - be prepared for a lot of unlearning and relearning. What we do and how things work in a corporate or a freelance setting is totally different from what you'll be doing and how everything works in a startup. There's no more "that's the way it's always been done" or a structure/system and you have to figure out almost everything from scratch. Feel free to use this tip or reach out for a comment/tip specific to your article's angle.
