I want to know how to manage my business budget in a smart way, so I can get the best results from my advertising campaign. I know marketing actions can be tricky and need a deep knowledge of the market. However, I think startups normally fall into common mistakes.

What would a marketing expert suggest? Which are some Key tips to avoid mistakes?

I've heard from many smart startup gurus that you shouldn't even have a marketing budget to start out, or you should keep it super lean. At most, spend a few dollars on an ad campaign to help get user feedback. In the very beginning (first year or so) you'll be doing your best to gather user feedback and help it push your product design.

Building an awesome service/product should be your primary concern. Allow your super satisfied users to be your best marketers. You can't beat genuine appreciation.

I'd say focus all your marketing efforts into selling, spend every marketing dollar in getting you to sell your service/product. Sales are the lifeblood of your business, and when you're starting up, and short on cash, focus every single dollar in getting sales.
