@Ed Kanghere are three initial thoughts:

1. projecting confidence vs. having honest conversations w/ investors? How do you balance those two?
2. DIEE - I would steer away from that acronym.  It means  different things to different readers.  There is probably a way to express what you mean that will not be cause the reader to misinterpret the advice based on the reader own exposure to those ideas.  
3. I think it's a disservice to discuss lean startup without recognizing design thinking, which is more a first principles approach because it forces founder to place the customer at the center and clearly identify the problem to be solved vs. lean startup that is a solution first approach. There is reason why Lean startup has backtracked on the idea of build first as has design sprints method too.  Lean startup back tracked so far as to redefine what build means (it can any experiment that output is learning versus truly building) .
