I actually know someone who's Alma Mater stole his idea (!!!) & a young lady who pitched a well known company about her product a short time ago, told her there was no market for it - and then recently - tried to come out with the EXACT same product.
Luckily for her - she didn't listen to their "feedback", made the product, sold it on Etsy, and is now about to get it in retail stores. Go girl!
BUT, I know the majority of ideas out there - like you said - won't get stolen because it's freakin' HARD to execute on an idea (successfully) & people are lazy or easily distracted. #squirrel
