Media coach, PR expert, business coach w/results!

Bio

You have found an affordable, friendly, and effective business coach, media coach, and public relations consultant who will help you "get known now" — whether you own a business, are an executive, or are freelancing.

I'm Stephanie Mojica, an award-winning newspaper journalist and experienced Hollywood film producer turned business coach, media coach, and public relations consultant.

I have leveraged over 20 years of high-level journalism experience to work as a media coach, business coach, and public relations consultant in order to help entrepreneurs get the publicity and PR they deserve.

My creative works have featured household names such as Ed Asner and Naomi Judd along with countless political leaders, including former U.S. President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Colin Powell.

More than 6,000 of my original writings have appeared in a plethora of periodicals, including: USA Today, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Houston Chronicle, The Virginian-Pilot, and The Arizona Republic. (That figure doesn't even account for the ghostwriting, proofreading, and copy editing I've also done as a public relations consultant, media coach, and business coach.)

My press experience also includes The Courier-Journal, Louisville Magazine, The Lexington Herald-Leader, the Daily Press, Today's Woman, Realty 411, and Recreation News.

In addition, I have produced and directed more than 50 films and TV programs.

I have worked directly in the offices of and/or on a freelance basis as a media expert with the Dr. Phil show, Inside Edition, NBC, CBS, Columbia Pictures, Harvard University, Verizon, Lockheed Martin, Prevention, Women's Health, Men's Health, Travis Barker of Blink 182, Bow Wow, Baby Boy, and the City of El Segundo, California.

(Generally, I charge a lot more than $120 an hour for my proven services as a business coach, media coach, and public relations consultant. The current price is for a limited time only while I get established on Clarity as a business coach, media coach, and public relations consultant.)

How should I approach starting a coaching business when I am still job hunting?

Stephanie Mojica

Media coach, PR expert, business coach w/results!

On your resume, you can always put self-employed to discuss your "gap" in employment. Here's an example from mine: Writing/editing coach currently Lexington, KY Self-employed 1997-present  Guide people through the process of becoming successful freelance writers and editors.  Led one client through the entire process of writing and self-publishing his book, “The Blessings of My Storms,” which has become successful in Kentucky and beyond. I have been successful in both self-employment and the traditional workplace as well as explaining gaps in traditional employment on my resume, in my cover letter, and during interviews. We can chat on a brief call to discuss your situation further. Good luck! Stephanie

Sales

What should I do with my email list of potential prospects?

Stephanie Mojica

Media coach, PR expert, business coach w/results!

ALWAYS focus on their needs. Use a lot of "you" centered language. Depending on your line of business, offering a free gift such as a webinar, an eBook, a complimentary 15-minute consultation (add a limiter such as for five people — this creates urgency and doesn't make you look desperate for business), etc. works wonders. I have completed in-person training with some of the seven-figure email marketers that provide true value while making money. I would be happy to get on a call with you to pinpoint your needs. Best, Stephanie

How do I know what kind of person or consultant to hire to help me streamline my businesses?

Stephanie Mojica

Media coach, PR expert, business coach w/results!

As someone who has been on both ends (consulting/coaching clients and having coaching/consulting myself), I can tell you a couple of things. 1) Don't be afraid to "shop around." I'm not even talking about the best financial deal. Try a few folks on Clarity for short calls (10-30 minutes). It doesn't matter if the consultant/coach is the best around - if your personalities don't mesh well, you'll have a hard time putting his or her suggestions into action. 2) Thus, don't sign long contracts until you've had at least one call with a person. I like Clarity because you have the option to use someone repeatedly, once in a while, etc. A GOOD consultant/coach will keep highly confidential records and will remember who you are even if it's been a while. 3) Don't necessarily judge a consultant/coach by price. Some of the most expensive ones anywhere are more hype than action, and some of the cheapest ones I've hired have given me thousands of dollars of value in a call or two. By the way, I have years of experience editing and writing for print real estate magazines such as Realty411. My publisher/editor is a very successful entrepreneur with multiple streams of real estate income. I regularly interview similar people. Please reach out - even if you decide to hire another coach/consultant, I can probably help you get some print publicity since your industry is one I've been involved with for years. Good luck and do feel free to reach out anytime. Stephanie

Marketplaces

What should I do first before creating an online marketplace?

Stephanie Mojica

Media coach, PR expert, business coach w/results!

Hi, what kind of marketplace do you want to create? That would help us give you a better answer. If you're selling products for the first time, you probably want to try eBay and/or Amazon before going into the time, money, and effort to create an online marketplace. If you're selling services for the first time, you probably want to try Upwork, Guru, PeoplePerHour, Clarity, etc. before starting your own marketplace. Also, a lot of experts are having success creating online courses on Udemy — but it's an art and science. I'm working on this myself and with my clients. I would love to talk with you for even 10-15 minutes to help you get clear on your goals. I've been helping people like you for over 20 years and they get results — but we would need to target your specific situation. Best wishes and I hope you book a call for personalized advice soon! Business Strategy

Is there a benefit to form a LLC in another state?

Stephanie Mojica

Media coach, PR expert, business coach w/results!

Hello, Some states have lower tax or no taxes. Nevada is a popular place for people to incorporate. Keep in mind while I know a LOT about the law (having worked in journalism and as a coach/consultant for over 20 years) I am not a lawyer. However, I can help walk you through some processes of forming your business — such as deciding your strategies in many areas (like marketing) and getting free publicity. I would love to help you further, so I hope you'll book a short follow-up call soon. Best wishes, Stephanie

For a new E-commerce, should I invest in the registration of the brand or wait to have succeeded first?

Stephanie Mojica

Media coach, PR expert, business coach w/results!

Hi, I'm Stephanie and I've helped people like you for over two decades. ALWAYS register, trademark, copyright, etc. your brand as well as your real full name. One of the clients I worked with literally became famous overnight after a national TV appearance, and someone dishonest had bought her real name on .biz etc. domains as well as a name similar to her business. I can walk you through the steps you can take to ensure your brand stays YOUR brand without spending a ton of time or money - and also ways to help you succeed. I would love to help you more with this soon, so please consider booking a follow-up call. Best wishes, Stephanie

How can I get an investor for my social network idea?

Stephanie Mojica

Media coach, PR expert, business coach w/results!

I have worked with people through this as a business strategist and coach, and it depends on how well connected you are. Do you have a large following in person and/or via social networks - especially LinkedIn and/or Facebook? I would recommend creating at least a PowerPoint presentation about your project, including market research about the demand for it. A business plan is also essential. I've written and edited hundreds of business plans and pitch presentations over the last few years and have 20+ years high-level media experience. Getting one newspaper or TV reporter on board with your idea could be your personal angel investor, so to speak. I'd love to help you in a short call. You would leave with four solid ideas, depending on your needs, to get investors for your social network project idea. It sounds fascinating, and I hope to help you make your dream come true soon! Best wishes, Stephanie
