WORK EXPERIENCE

Expert Witness:
In 1996 I assisted a local law firm in the Federated States of Micronesia in the state of Pohnpei, regarding blasting damage that was alleged to have been caused to a neighbor’s home foundation by a mining of gravel operation on adjacent property. Based on my teaching experience, on Earth Science and my understanding of the Chemistry of explosives, I prepared a report and testified as part of the defense before the Supreme Court of the Federated States of Micronesia.
Mostly, my teaching of Chemistry, and assorted Science courses, before students is essentially acting as an expert in Chemistry before my students.

Industry:
January 1995 - August 1995
Research Chemist - Increte Systems Inc., Odessa, FL; Prepared Concrete Stain product line, Various Concrete Coatings, some manufacturing support.

February 1984 - May 1986
A.E. Staley Manufacturing Company, Decatur, IL; Applications Chemist, One Patent #4,663,388. Developed Applications for Stalink Reactive Cellulose Esters in Composites, and Conventional and UV Cure Coatings. Extensive customer sales support, and technical service.

Part-time Paint Chemist working for small paint company (closed) in San Diego, CA, formulation, testing of coatings and paint manufactured for the US Navy, 1988 & 1989.

Chemistry

Where can I find a chemist who can help me tweak a bath bomb recipe that includes a lot of essential oil?

Eugene Douglass

Polymer Chemist, Chemistry Teacher

Your ingredients are NOT compatible with any oily substance, you need to include some organic soap in your mixture that will combine with the essential oil, to make an emulsion in the tub or vessel and be compatible with the inorganic ingredients you add, the baking soda, the citric acid etc.

Startup Consulting

Can a convicted felon start a business and win government contracts legally?

Eugene Douglass

Polymer Chemist, Chemistry Teacher

No, unlikely any customers will trust you with their money. Better to get a worker job, go back to college or grad school, and/or learn a trade, where your conviction will not matter.
