Donald Maloy is a detail-oriented and highly skilled professional pilot with extensive training and experience in the aviation industry. Trained as a Naval Aviator by the United States Navy, he has a proven track record of cross-functional leadership in aviation. Donald's expertise extends to aeronautics, mechanical design, and computer-aided engineering.
He holds various Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot ratings and certificates, including an Airline Transport Pilot Multi Engine Land certificate, Commercial Single Engine Land certificate, and six aircraft Pilot in Command type ratings, including B-747-4, BE-200, CL-65, EMB-135, HS-125, and L-188.
With over 4,000 total flight hours, including 1,600 military flight hours, Donald brings a wealth of aeronautical experience to his current role as a founder of Maloy Aircraft. He has undergone extensive training in multiple aircraft types and continuously pursued educational and training programs to enhance his skills.
Donald graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics. He has also completed numerous specialized training programs in aeronautics, flight systems, leadership, and engineering.
Throughout his career, Donald has held various positions in the aviation industry, including roles in FAA Part 121 and Part 135 airlines. He has also gained experience in engineering and project management, serving as an Engineering Supervisor for ACCO Brands and an Application Engineer for SOLIDWORKS mechanical design and simulation products.
Apart from his professional achievements, Donald is actively involved in mentoring and holds memberships in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Experimental Aircraft Association.

At Maloy Aircraft, we understand the looming shortage of pilots within the industry. Our founder is a current Boeing 747 pilot and sees the pilot shortage first hand. This problem is projected to continue for the next decade. To tackle this expanding market head-on, our approach is to shake up the traditional pilot training methods currently utilized, and develop a business model that views the pilot as a B2B product. By eliminating financial barriers, we be able to access a larger scope of qualified individuals from more diverse backgrounds and provide them with a meaningful career while servicing the demands of the airline hiring requirements.
