Gene has been building and leading teams in major technology initiatives for more than two decades. He brings a wealth of experience in software product development, multidisciplinary project management, IT infrastructure engineering, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and customer support. An accomplished engagement manager, his list of notable clients spans both the public and private sectors. With an entrepreneurial mindset and three startup successes of his own, he is in his element leading teams to break new ground or tackle big challenges.
As the Founder and President of Bayou Media Development, Gene has led both infrastructure and development for clients such as Chase Bank, The Army Corp of Engineers, and the Louisiana Supreme Court. His most recent venture in cloud computing has been the design and development of a SaaS product for law enforcement agencies. He has led teams in network operations, customer support,
change management, and software development. His technical resume includes positions as Development Project Lead, DevOps Lead, Technical Project Manager, Technical Account Manager, Customer Implementation Manager, and Network Engineer.
Gene was formerly the Founder and Managing Director of the Telecommunications Network Engineering Group. Before he sold the business, he led several high-profile projects for clients including Sprint, Texaco, the Federal Reserve, and the University of New Orleans Research and Technology Park. He co-founded the first accredited web media company to cover the NFL, Black & Gold Publications,
which is still in operation. He also holds the distinction of being the architect and founder of the first commercial internet service provider in the state of Arkansas, a business that was subsequently merged with a telecommunications company.
Gene studied Computer Engineering at Louisiana Tech University and did undergraduate coursework in Marketing and Business at the University of New Orleans. He is a member of the FBI's Infragard program, a public-private partnership in cybersecurity. When he is not working, he enjoys coaching high
school baseball and preparing Cajun cuisine.
