Given the experience I have with my own startups and with client's startups, a sustainable business model requires: 1) a hypothesis, 2) engaging with potential clients to validate the assumptions in the hypothesis, 3) iterate and pivot until a repeatable and scalable model is found, 4) and last but not least, an MVP.
