We are just launching. We have an app. Passages.ai has a unique app that allows users to create and share memorable moments with their loved ones and to pass their Legacy on to future generations. We are currently set up as a subscription at $9.95 per month.
I am very focused on traction. Would we be better off starting with a free app? Or at a reduced price, $4.95 for example? How can I test these approaches simultaneously without risking our pricing credibility?

You can start free for a clearly communicated limited time. And then increase the price. You can create specials such as "the next 100 members get 50% off lifetime" and start to scale it up. It also allows you to test various price points.
