Social Media Marketing

In looking at the answers about online marketing I've been getting here, the "experts'" blogs have little readership. Is their advice still good?

The advice given sounds good, but I can't help but notice that their social profiles and blogs have very little comments or sharing going on. Their social profiles are usually equally sparse, as well as the profiles of the company they work for. And yet, they seem to be giving me clear and intelligent advice on how to implement my own content strategy. Is it that they simply aren't practicing what they're preaching? Is it that content marketing doesn't actually take much engagement to get good business results? Or is it that the advice is really simply not valid?

In italy you have a saying along the lines of: "Doctors usually suffer from what they cure"... meaning they're too busy being good and helping others do that one thing that they don't do it for themselves.
I see the same for myself: I have 50+ apps in the App Store but unfortunately none of them are at levels I help my clients reach. Greatness requires time & effort, which we have a limited amount of.
In short, just because they haven't implemented what they preach doesn't mean they're frauds. However, always remember to make your own choices.

If the "experts" do not show their expertise through the success of their own online marketing campaigns, then they are not an expert. That does not mean that they do not know what they are talking about but, rather, that they don't make it a priority to implement their own techniques for their own business success. The best leaders in the field take the time to build their own brands - as well as the brands of their clients.

If the advice seems sound then its worth taking into consideration for your own strategies.

Too often, people are busy with the day to day and often neglect the building of their own brand. (including myself) There's no real excuse except the fact I haven't put it as priority over other work. Its a choice you make because it COULD potentially cost you some business but for many people, if they have enough work on their hands, building their own brand may be pushed down to the bottom of the to do lists.

Phil Jackson is one of the most successful basketball coaches of all time at the professional level. He has coached Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Kobe Bryant, and countless others to multiple NBA Championships and Hall of Fame status.

Notice his distinct lack of presence on the all-time NBA Scoring list...or any NBA all-start team during the period which he was a player for the Knicks.

Being a top performer doesn't mean your a top coach, and vice versa.

Advice is that you must pay attention to the content marketing. It is the only way to increase the readership.
It means that content marketing is a long-term strategy that focuses on building a strong relationship with your target audience by giving them high-quality content that is truly relevant to them on a consistent basis. Eventually, when customers make a purchase decision, their loyalty already lies with you. Keep that in mind as we look at some of the different types of content marketing. While there is only one goal of content marketing, there are many ways to do that. But before we can jump in and see how you can create your own strategy; you should first understand a bit of content marketingā€™s history.
