Free Preview of My Book on Fundraising Pre-Seed/Seed

Hi everyone,

I'll share a quick story with you. When I started my first company, I had yet to learn what I was doing. It was the dot-com era, and everything felt like the wild wild west. I was lucky to find a mentor who became an angel investor, eventually leading to a successful exit. That experience was a game-changer for me, inspiring me to pay it forward. I’ve had the privilege of working with so many of you and witnessing the incredible highs and the challenging lows of building a startup. I wanted to create something that could serve as a go-to resource, helping you navigate the startup journey with confidence and clarity.

And now, after months of hard work and countless late nights, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve written a book tailored specifically for all you dedicated founders! This isn’t just any book—it’s a treasure trove of actionable insights, real-life examples, and proven strategies to help you become a competent and fundable founder.

The book is a roadmap that guides you through the ups and downs of securing pre-seed and seed funding, filled with the lessons

Curious to get a sneak peek? Here is the link to the preview: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YW1Y9TdqeftnSuQa9l2lXZgJx_q10sxEVUVOdEuoHO8/edit?usp=sharing

And here’s something special: If you’re a Startups.com member and you give me actionable feedback or a testimonial that I can use, I’ll send you a free copy of the book once it’s released! Drop your thoughts in a reply comment below or email them to me.

I can’t wait to hear your feedback and continue supporting you!

There is so much information. The fact that you have broken each down to where anyone can understand it is fantastic. Congratulations! I can’t wait

here are three initial thoughts:

  1. projecting confidence vs. having honest conversations w/ investors? How do you balance those two?
  2. DIEE - I would steer away from that acronym.  It means  different things to different readers.  There is probably a way to express what you mean that will not be cause the reader to misinterpret the advice based on the reader own exposure to those ideas.
  3. I think it's a disservice to discuss lean startup without recognizing design thinking, which is more a first principles approach because it forces founder to place the customer at the center and clearly identify the problem to be solved vs. lean startup that is a solution first approach. There is reason why Lean startup has backtracked on the idea of build first as has design sprints method too.  Lean startup back tracked so far as to redefine what build means (it can any experiment that output is learning versus truly building) .

Absolutely epic. Just had a read through the into and the first principles thinking chapter. Love your clear ideas! This will be an amazing resource for early stage founders.
