Facebook Marketing
I've seen some people use Facebook ads to a free webinar or video opt-in, other leverage their Fanpage and do promoted posts to other in-FB landing pages, etc. Just curious what you've seen work great, and the kind of numbers you've been able to get re-cost per email lead (double opt-in).

Facebook Fan Page Marketing and Copywriting
I use the FB Login App to collect FB Verified leads thru an App on my Fan Page.
See this video which explains http://youtu.be/5tjVNf9H_Uk.
I have mainly offered a free software trial - 7 day ecourse, or registrations for live hangout events which I also host on my Fan Page.
It has been very effective, generating over 40,000 leads in the last 15 months for one of my businesses. The best part is that 90% of the traffic is a result to a high viral coefficient.

My newsletter has about a 3% conversion rate (no pop ups or anything), my CPC to my website is about $0.10 with Facebook ads, so my cost per lead by scaling traffic is about $0.33. I'm in online E-Commerce Retail.
I imagine sending traffic to a landing page with a conversion rate higher than 3% will create an even lower cost per lead. I've worked on a couple different campaigns that have attempted to do this, the biggest one received over 197,000 submissions, but it had a very large $50K+ budget. They all follow the same basic pattern of create the best landing page possible, and send the highest quality traffic to the landing page at the lowest price possible.
So really the hardest part is running good Facebook ads.

Another important tactic here than many marketers miss is making sure you optimize your landing pages and emails for social sharing. In other words, in addition to actively promoting your own landing pages, you want to be encouraging the folks already on your email list and those who have downloaded and enjoyed your content to share it with others (on social media networks, or by forwarding the email to a friend or colleague), thus allowing you to add new contacts to your list. With valuable content, good reach, and clear and enticing calls-to-action, this is a great way to grow your list even further.

Good insight here. I spend a lot of time (and budgets) on Facebook. Facebook is a lifestyle platform and it refers the least amount of buyers than any other social media platform. Still, it is extremely effective when we're talking about building a list hyper-targeted of subscribers.
What's most important is who you serve and what they want. When you can deliver this in terms that really "speak" to them, no one else's metrics matter to your business. I can give you the rundown on my clients and my own CTRs, CPCs, cost per lead, etc. but I feel like that becomes counterproductive.
For example, Promoting webinars is a lucrative strategy for some of my clients where a simple landing page (opt-in offer) converts the highest for others.
As "woo-woo" as it sounds, focus on speaking your "tribe's language" and the testing/tweaking becomes a much different (and enjoyable) process.
Unless you could explicitly verbalize how your solution is super specifically related to what your highly targeted audience is looking for right now, I wouldn't begin to weigh the different types of Facebook ad strategies.
Finally, I'll tell you we generally see a higher cost per lead on Facebook BUT we can target specific audience segments unlike any other platform so the quality of the leads tend to be much higher( and responsive). Generally speaking without knowing anything about your business, video converts 100's Xs better than text alone so incorporate it whenever possible in your testing.
