Announcing: Startups Live

Announcing: Startups Live

Today I’m ridiculously excited to tell you about a product I’ve been personally waiting on for a very, very long time – Startups Live!

Startups Live is a moderated, members-only Slack community where we’re pulling together the smartest Founders (and their teams) into a single discussion for one hour every day.

Startups Live

Real Time, Moderated, Focused

None of us have time for another forum or Slack community of random chatter.  We’re not interested in sifting through trolls or hoping someone comes up with a topic that might be interesting in a chat room somewhere.

That’s why we’re keeping it short – 1 hour, every day – at 11a EST / 8a PST.

Each day we’ll be moderating the discussion to keep it fresh with new topics and adding in special guests and experts throughout the week to dig into their ideas and expertise on startup topics.

In the first few weeks you can expect to spend time with David Heinemeier Hansson of BasecampAndrew Warner of Mixergy, and Derek Anderson of Startup Grind as well as lot of others.

This is all about smart Founders getting together to talk shop. At the end of the hour we’ll leave the chat open but we’ll use that as a cue to get back to building our startups.

Channeling Founder Energy

Startup Founders (and their teams) have a unique bond.  We love helping each other, we’re passionate about what startups can be, and we’re often really opinionated!

We want to take that manic energy and channel it each day into a single, active discussion where we can go further than just having Twitter rants or posting questions to Quora and dig a level deeper.  We want to build some actual relationships and have a real discussion about stuff we care about.

We’re using Startups Live as a way to unlock all the collective wisdom and opinion of over 1 million startups on our platform. But we’re taking our time and doing it with a small group of folks at a time.

Interested in Joining?

We’d love to have you. In order to get the cadence right, we’re initially limiting the number of attendees so that we don’t overwhelm the discussion.  As we learn to sub-divide chats into smaller groups and build different event types for different needs, we’ll continue to expand.

That said – come join us. We’ve setup a quick overview and submission page that you can use to let us know you want in.

I’m excited to get to know you. I’ll be online every day at 11a EST / 8a PST.  Let’s talk shop.
